2007: American Skandia becomes Prudential Annuities.

2003: Prudential Financial purchases American Skandia. 

2002: American Skandia re-launches its Web site and new company look. The Web site is quickly recognized by DALBAR for its ease of use by Financial Professionals.

2001: American Skandia opens second U.S. site in Denver.

2001: The American College Savings Program launches and offers a tax-advantaged and flexible way to save for college.

2000: American Skandia Advisor Funds tops $1 billion in assets under management.

1997: American Skandia Advisor Funds (ASAF) launches and quickly becomes one of the fastest growing mutual funds.

1996: American Skandia launches the first annuity to offer investors a bonus with XTra Credit.

1995: American Skandia debuts the first multimedia sales support software in the industry, the ASSESS CD-ROM.

1987: American Skandia, a new type of financial services company, is established by Skandia Insurance Company, Ltd. American Skandia’s first revolutionary idea is to introduce the concept of working with external money managers to remain completely unbiased.
